Cooperatives are re-emerging as a promising legal tool for communities to develop sustainable access to food, decent and affordable housing, stable employment and fair, livable wages.  Cooperatives also present opportunities for people to launch businesses that develop leadership and ownership among employees. As we see the economic disparities in our communities with little or no improvement over the decades, cooperatives offer a legal tool for change – and much more. Wherever co-ops are springing up in Ohio, hope is in the air!

ABLE’s Cooperative Law Conference on JUNE 5th 2020 offers an opportunity to

  1. Learn the legal basics of general and Ohio cooperative law from statewide and national experts

  2. Interact with others developing co-ops and learn from each other

  3. Learn how co-ops are providing people with exciting alternatives to traditional business forms with lasting positive results

  4. Learn how your transactional legal skills can help build a solidarity economy

We are proud to be able to offer this for $60 because of our generous partners: The Sustainable Economies Law Center, OSU Center for Cooperatives, the Alliance of Ohio Legal Aids, and the Ohio Access to Justice Foundation. - Jacqueline Radebaugh, Staff Attorney, Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc.
